Rape case dismissed

A 34-year-old Warren man was cleared of rape charges last week at his preliminary exam before Warren 37th District Judge Sherman Faunce.

Earlier this summer, Larry Lang was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct of a Warren woman he was dating. Faunce said the woman testified there was no force but that she, for some reason, was afraid to say no. Faunce said the case was dismissed because there was no force.

Charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct includes fondling, not penetration.

"I want my client's named cleared in the public eye since the charges were dropped," defense attorney James Galen said.
